- No third-party scripts: We don't load tracking scripts from advertising or analytics companies.
- No data selling: We will never sell, rent, or trade your data because we don't collect it in the first place.
- No user accounts: No login required means no password databases and no email lists.
What Data Is Stored
SwipeInterview works entirely in your browser using local storage. All your data stays on your device:
- Question progress: Which questions you've seen and how you've categorized them (know it / review it).
- Study preferences: Theme selections, difficulty preferences, and UI settings.
- Offline content: Downloaded question sets for offline access.
Important: This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it yourself.
Local Storage
We use browser local storage (IndexedDB) to save your progress locally on your device. This is the same technology that allows the app to work offline. You have full control over this data and can clear it at any time through your browser settings.
Server Communication
When you use SwipeInterview:
- Initial content is loaded from our servers (question sets, themes, etc.)
- No authentication or identification is required
- We don't log your IP address or create user profiles
- After initial load, the app works entirely offline
Web Hosting
Our website and app are hosted on standard web hosting infrastructure. While the hosting provider may maintain standard server logs for security and operational purposes, we do not access or analyze this data for tracking purposes.
Browser Requirements
SwipeInterview requires a modern web browser with support for:
- Local Storage / IndexedDB for offline functionality
- Service Workers for Progressive Web App features
- Modern JavaScript (ES6+)
Your Data Rights
Since we don't collect personal data, there's nothing for us to delete, modify, or export on our end. You have complete control:
- Access: All your data is in your browser's local storage, accessible via browser dev tools.
- Export: Use the app's built-in export feature to download your progress data.
- Delete: Clear your browser data or use the app's reset feature to delete everything.
- Portability: Your exported data is in standard JSON format, usable anywhere.
Children's Privacy
SwipeInterview is appropriate for all ages. Since we don't collect personal information from anyone, there's no special consideration needed for users under 13 (COPPA) or 16 (GDPR).
Changes to This Policy
We will never fundamentally change our privacy-first approach. However, if we need to update this policy for clarity or compliance, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
International Users
SwipeInterview can be used anywhere in the world. Since we don't collect personal data, international data transfer regulations don't apply to our service.
